We weren't expecting to be bringing up Gotham Knights today, but the public has spoken. Warner Bros. Games' maligned but actually-not-bad action game has made a surprise return to the UK's physical games chart, placing number six. The sudden uptick in sales comes down to a pretty heavy price promotion, cutting the cost to less than half.
The remainder of the top 10 is far more predictable. Resident Evil 4 is still king of the castle, with the vast majority of those physical sales being made with either the PS5 or PS4 versions. FIFA 23 and Hogwarts Legacy have swapped places, now sitting in second and third respectively. Jumping up two places is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in fourth, while God of War Ragnarok has slipped down to ninth.
Here's the latest physical top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 1st April, 2023
- Resident Evil 4
- FIFA 23
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Gotham Knights
- WWE 2K23
- Super Mario Odyssey
- God of War Ragnarok
- Minecraft (Switch)

So happy to see such a strong week for games available on PlayStation systems. Especially Resident Evil 4 still in top spot. It’s comfortably my favourite game since God of War Ragnarok.
If your in the UK Currys have Gotham Knights for £9.99 at the moment.
@bindiana yeah I picked up that deal, albeit Amazon price matched for a while
God of War still in the top ten is such a delight.
@bindiana Thanks for the tip. It will definitely be worth it at that price.
@bindiana I knew leaving the UK would be a mistake
Picked it up for £9.99.
Yeah I picked it up cheap for PlayStation five and then ended up being for at least a week 2 hours from playstation 5 so also got it on Xbox.
It’s a good game. I know it got loads of hate: and it has plenty of issues but for £10 it’s well worth it.
Got it in a charity bundle for my steam deck and about 5-6 hours in - I’m only playing as one character so far, I’ve found now where I can change character (it wasn’t well sign posted IMHO) but I’m tempted to play as one character all the way through and then when I play on Xbox/ps5 do a play through as different characters. Achievements wise that’s not a good plan but I don’t care about achievements. It could of course force me to change character at some point maybe.
The cutscenes seem very character specific so I feel like it’ll be quite different playing as a different character. (I’m probably wrong)
Enjoying the suit choices and crafting stuff for variation. The combat is just same as the old Batman games and I loved those so no issues there and the story is good.
The living La Vida loca cover for that scene was brilliant. Approve of a decent soundtrack. Felt very movie like.
For a tenner id give it a solid 8.
Hogwarts boycott still going well I see 😂
To be honest, the biggest cost of a game is the time you put into it. £10 is nothing, basically two pints, or a bit less than a cinema ticket; even at full price you're looking at, what, a not particularly long-distance train ride? Two Domino's pizzas with sides? But no matter how cheap, it's really the time it takes that has to be worth it. That's why games like this might get a brief resurgence but never really claw their way back from commercial failure - even if it's a great game like Dishonored 2 which hit £5 pretty quickly. If people don't perceive it as good use of their time, it doesn't matter if it's free.
@InvaderJim haha yeah. Surprised there isn’t a disclaimer on this article telling us how the staff don’t agree with JKs “controversial” views. Any mention of the game seems to trigger a certain kind of person telling us all how “modern” they are in the views.
Missing the point completely and also not understand JKs point at all.
I hope one day something I create gets boycotted as hard as Hogwarts has been lol. Cha ching.
Great for Gotham Knights
The full 6 comic prequal is out (last issue was on the 27th), if anyone jumping in the game now.
Worth the read and you get exclusive stuff in the game. Getting a 1 month subscription to DC Universe counts (so about $1.30 a comic)
